Bitumen is a very important component of asphalt and is used in road paving, roofing and as sound insulation. It is the glue that holds asphalt together and provides flexible properties. Without bitumen, asphalt would be just a pile of bricks.

Paint for asphalt

Asphalt is a mixture of sand, stone and filler. It can discolor to brown/gray over time. This is because black bitumen wears off after some time and the color of stone becomes visible. This bitumen hardens and wears off the road surface as cars drive over it. The gray color is the color of stone that makes up the asphalt.

How do I use the asphalt paint?

Rustoleum paint for asphalt is easy to use. Use the steps below.

1. Substrate should be dry and free of loose particles.Moss etc. should be removed manually or with a pressure washer. Let the substrate dry thoroughly
2. Before use, the product should be stirred intensively until a good homogeneity is achieved.
3. Do not apply outside during rain. Avoid exposing the coating to rain within 30 minutes of application.
4. The product must be applied liberally but evenly in one coat with a roller or brush. Pits and holes can be pre-filled with a 5410 mortar mixed with fire-dried sand.

Depending on many factors such as porosity and roughness of the substrate and material loss during application, consumption is difficult to estimate. Theoretical consumption is 5 - 10 m² per 5 liters, depending on the type of substrate.
