Because the primer is thick, it also fills in imperfections such as dents, scratches, and cracks to create a smooth surface. The Hammerite anti-rust primer cannot be used on non-ferrous metals (zinc, aluminum, and galvanized steel).

How to use Hammerite Anti Rust primer?

Hammerite Anti Rust primer can be applied directly to rusty metal or untreated bare iron. The Hammerite anti-rust primer is easy to use with a paint roller or brush. Follow the steps below on how to use Hammerite Anti Rust primer.

1. Remove loose paint and rust.
2. Clean the surface with Hammerite metal degreaser.
3. Lightly sand the surface and clean it again with degreaser.
4. Stir the Hammerite Anti Rust for at least 2 minutes.
5. Apply 2 coats of Hammerite Anti Rust primer with a brush or roller.
6. Allow it to dry for at least 4 hours before applying another coat.
7. Pay extra attention to pitted rust spots.
8. After 24 hours, Hammerite Menie can be painted over with metal paint, alkyd paint, or acrylic paint.
